A Kennesaw resident thwarted a burglar by firing a warning shot into the air.

A Kennesaw resident foiled a would-be burglar earlier today, according to an audio update made by Sgt. Brice Barth of the shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Barth said a resident of a Dobbins Drive home saw a white male attempting to raise a window on the back of his home. The resident, who was armed, then fired a warning shot into the air, said Barth. The burglar then fled the scene through a hole he had made in the resident's wooden fence, he said.
