Aviation-Themed Park Coming to Kennesaw Area

KENNESAW, GA -- Residents wanting more green space in a bustling part of town will get their wish after the Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted to approve a new park near the corner of Cobb Place Boulevard and Barrett Lakes Boulevard.

The oasis comes after a request by the Town Center Community Improvement District, which will fund the $1.8 million project in its entirety.

The aviation-themed public park will be maintained by the Cobb P.A.R.K.S. Department, which will provide engineering and construction support, the county said.

The Kennesaw area near Barrett Parkway has become heavily developed in recent years as national chain restaurants and other businesses have moved in.
