Busbee Parkway Billboard Still Under Repair Monday Evening

Crews are hopeful that they can get the job done before traffic begins to pick up on Monday morning.

Repair crews are working through Monday night in an effort to repair a billboard which was dangling precariously over a busy Kennesaw thoroughfare.

According to WSB-TV, a motorist first noticed the off-kilter billboard hovering over George Busbee Parkway between Shiloh and Frey roads on Monday morning, spurring police to shut down that section of the parkway until the billboard could be repaired.

WSB-TV says that once repair crews received the proper equipment and ascended to the billboard, they notices that one of the welds which holds the billboard to its vertical support column had failed. The crew believes recent high winds were responsible for popping the weld, the station says.

Cobb County police spokesman Dana Pierce told Patch on Monday afternoon that work crews would likely be working on repairing the structure through that evening’s rush hour; work crews now tell WSB-TV that they hope to be done with repairs before Tuesday’s morning rush hour kicks off.
