Cobb Officer Resigns After Prescription Fraud Arrest
Cobb County Police officer Charles Alan Forrester of Kennesaw allegedly used fake prescriptions to obtain pain medication from a Kennesaw pharmacy.

A Cobb County Police officer resigned Tuesday after being arrested May 6 on charges of using fake prescriptions to obtain pain medication, first reported the Marietta Daily Journal.
Charles Alan Forrester, 42, of Wickford Drive in Kennesaw, turned himself in to the Cobb County Jail last week and was charged with two felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation, according to jail records and a warrant for his arrest obtained by the MDJ.
Forrester allegedly obtained 90 tablets of oxycodone/acetaminophen at the at 1550 Kennesaw Due West Road on April 6 and 30 tablets of hydromorphine at the same pharmacy 10 days later using fraudulent prescriptions, according to the warrant.
Forrester was released on a $10,000 bond a couple hours after he was booked into jail, according to jail records.
Forrester was placed on paid administrative leave after Cobb Police found out about his arrest, then resigned Tuesday afternoon, Cobb Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce told the MDJ.
Forrester was a lieutenant with Cobb County Police and had been with the force for almost 20 years. He was the day shift commander for east Cobb Precinct 4, reported the MDJ.
