Cobb Police Investigate Series of Auto Burglaries
Officials say there might have been more incidents in the metro Atlanta area.
The Cobb County Police Department is investigating a series of automobile burglary incidents in Kennesaw, Acworth and Powder Springs.
According to investigators, on April 10, two females and a male were participating in or watching sporting events at at 3900 S. Main St in Acworth when all three of their vehicles were broken into. The windows of the three Chevrolet SUVs were knocked out, and various items were taken from them, including ladies purses, drivers licenses, credit cards, checkbooks, birth certificates, social security cards and cash.
A female suspect unsuccessfully attempted to cash a check of one of the victims at a Sun Trust bank in College Park on Tuesday (see pictures).
Sgt. Dana Pierce, spokesman of the Cobb County Police Department, said there have been additional incidents reported at the located on Dennis Kemp Lane in Kennesaw and the Aquatic Center located on Macland Road in Powder Springs.

Cobb investigators are talking to other jurisdictions in metro Atlanta to find out if there have been similar incidents outside of Cobb County.
Detectives believe the suspects are targeting the victims by watching them leave their vehicles and then breaking into them.
Cobb police recommend that citizens leave any valuable item that cannot be secured in the vehicle at home.
