Cobb Police Officer Injured in Altercation
The officer was taken to the hospital and treated for a minor injury, police said.
A Cobb County police officer was taken to a local hospital after he was injured in an altercation with a suspect in a Marietta drug bust on Monday, according to a spokesman.
Officers responded to the Rosemont City View Apartments located at 1650 Barnes Mill Road after they were tipped off that a drug transaction may be taking place, police spokesman Dana Pierce told Patch. Once officers arrived at the complex, multiple suspects fled from a vehicle and officers gave chase. One of the officers chased a suspect into a nearby woodline, where he was injured in an altercation, Pierce said.
The injured officer was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, Pierce said. He was treated for minor injuries.

Spokeswoman Alicia Chilton told 11 Alive News that one suspect had been arrested and that police were searching for others.
