2.

Where/When: ; Saturday, 7 to 11 p.m.

Why Go: Let's face it–we love our kids, but sometimes we just need to get away from them for a little bit. While you may or may not have your children enrolled in day care, why not take them to “night care” and enjoy some grown-up time with your spouse?

Pricing: $25/child, additional siblings $20 each

3.

Where/When: Governors Towne Club Tennis Center (4200 Governors Towne Dr. #100, Acworth); Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Although registration to play tennis has closed, guests will still be entertained with a poolside fashion show, silent auctions for tennis tickets and, of course, the matches themselves. Plus, all proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. If you or your children love tennis, this event can't be missed.

Pricing: $20 (Buy tickets)

4.

Where/When: ; All weekend

Why Go: This isn't so much an “event” as it is a special offer. We're going to be dealing with kids treading in mud and tracking it in the carpet soon, especially because school is right around the corner. If you call All-Star Chem-Dry and pledge $20 to The National Breast Cancer Foundation, they'll send you a pink can of their world-famous spot remover.

Pricing: $20 donation to The National Breast Cancer Foundation

5. Acworth Opry

Where/When: ; Saturday, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Need a little bluegrass in your life? Want to get out and enjoy the cooler evening temperatures after enjoying the air conditioner all day? If you love outdoor concerts or just want to get out of the house, come to Acworth to hear the best bluegrass around.
