According to the Marietta Daily Journal, construction on the new Governors Gun Club at the intersection of Kennesaw Due West Road and Cobb Parkway will begin in June and will take around six months to complete. Contractors will be able to take advantage of the six acre site’s preexisting fire mains, detention ponds, and storm water apparatuses to cut down on construction time and cost.

Once completed, the Governors Gun Club will feature a 35,000 sq. ft. indoor clay range, a 13,000 sq. ft. retail space, and a 6,000 sq. ft. restaurant and lounge. The site will also contain an outdoor archery range, high-powered rifle lanes, and hunting simulators, the MDJ said.

The Kennesaw City Council will have to amend the parcel’s zoning to accommodate the new construction, a matter the MDJ says will be tackled next month.
