K-9s Help Nab Suspect in Armed Robbery
Police arrested a Kennesaw man who allegedly robbed a Chevron by gunpoint Tuesday.
Kennesaw police worked with Marietta K-9 units to help track a suspect in the armed robbery of a Kennesaw Tuesday.
Chaun Johnson, 19, of Kennesaw was arrested for allegedly robbing the Cobb Parkway gas station by gunpoint at about 8:30 p.m. according to an incident report obtained by Kennesaw Patch.
According to reports, the robber approached the Chevron attendant, pointed a silver colored revolver at him and said, "I'm robbing you, open the register, give me all the money."

He was described as wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, jeans, white tennis shoes, gloves and a red or burgundy colored cloth covering his face.
The attendant said the man pointed the gun at him a second time after he (the robber) accidentally dropped the money on the floor. The perpetrator then advised that the money be placed into a plastic bag bearing the words "thank you" in red.

The attendant said he was advised to place his wallet in the bag and told, "Put your wallet in the bag too, if something happens to me I'm gonna come back and pop your head."
The robber then fled the scene, heading northbound on foot.
Kennesaw police, working with Marietta K-9 handlers, tracked the suspect to his apartment. Police observed the following items inside Johnson's residence: a plastic sack bearing the words "thank you" in red, a leather wallet belonging to the Chevron attendant, a bookbag containing $1,531 in cash, a box of Remington .38 cartridges and a loaded .38 Special U.S. Charter Arms Revolver.
After running the gun, it was discovered to be stolen out of Rockdale County.
Kennesaw police arrested Johnson and took him into custody where he remained overnight before being handed over to the Sheriff's Office the next day, said Lt. Craig Graydon of the Kennesaw police.
Johnson was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault with a weapon, obstruction, interference with government property, theft by receiving firearm and wearing a mask/hood.
