Kennesaw Brewery Named Georgia's Most Underrated

Burnt Hickory Brewing in Kennesaw has been named Georgia’s most underrated brewery by Thrillist.

“Terrapin is absolutely bringing it on the stout front, but Kennesaw’s Burnt Hickory is no slouch either with its Big Shanty graham cracker stout,” the website said. “But while Terrapin is Georgia craft beer royalty at this point, Burnt Hickory is an up-and-comer on the state’s brewing scene, having started as a nanobrewery in 2012 and expanded enough since then to be considered micro.”

Thrillist chose one underrated brewery in each state that it called “places we love, places that, for whatever reason, don’t get to sit at the top of the totem nearly often enough.”

“The rapidly expanding size certainly hasn’t hurt it in the creativity department, as the Didjits blood orange IPA and the red velvet cake porter Courageous Conductor prove. And don’t forget the bourbon barrel-aged barleywine Killdozer. Not that you could with a name like that.”
