Kennesaw Composer and Singer Chris DeMarco releases cult movie soundtrack on VINYL

Ship to Shore PhonoCo, a New York-based independent record label, has released TROMA’S WAR. The remastered, never before available soundtrack, is now available on vinyl and digital in record stores nationwide and online at www.chrisdemarco.com.

With music produced, composed and performed by Chris DeMarco, directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, TROMA’S WAR tells the story of a group of marooned citizens who stumble upon a terrorist plot to take over the United States. With no help in sight and no way to contact reinforcements, it’s up to these ordinary people to save the world! A political satire of the glamorization of war in the 1980s, TROMA’S WAR is considered Troma’s “undiscovered masterpiece,” and the film celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2018. Chris DeMarco even has a brief role as a terrorist in one of the scenes.

Released in collaboration with Locked Groove Recording Co., a Colorado-based independent record label, the original motion picture score to TROMA’S WAR has been painstakingly remastered from the original master tapes by the composer at Dreamco Music Studios in Kennesaw, GA.

Chris recently attended a special screening of the movie at Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn, New York, together with director Lloyd Kaufman, record company representatives and some of the film’s cast members. Following the screening he participated in a Q&A session and signed copies of the album.

Featuring the complete motion picture score including cuts not used in the final film, TROMA’S WAR was released on 140-gram red and orange “Triumphant Explosion” colored vinyl and is limited to 1000 copies worldwide.

Chris DeMarco has been writing and performing music since the early 1970s, playing with a virtual “who’s who” of legendary musicians from Hollywood to New York City. To date six CDs of original music have been released, the latest of which is Genetic Marker. In 1989 DeMarco also produced, composed and performed the music for another Troma film, TOXIC AVENGER PART III: THE LAST TEMPATION OF TOXIE, based on the music of Antonin Dvorak.
