Kennesaw Man in Jail on Rape Charge

A 19-year-old Kennesaw man is in a Franklin County, GA, jail on charges of rape and false imprisonment.

Anthony Elijah Jones is charged in a Sept. 5, 2015, incident at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA, a college in northeast Georgia. Jones was indicted by a Franklin County jury on the charges, and a warrant was issued to bring him back to Georgia, according to Online Athens.

Jones was arrested on March 28 in Grand County, CO. He was living in a resort area popular among tourists, according to local law enforcement officials.

During the arrest, police also recovered a handgun, a cell phone and ammunition.

He was returned to Georgia on June 2.
