A Kennesaw man was killed in a single-vehicle car accident in Acworth on Sunday morning, Cobb County police announced Tuesday.

Bradford S. Bryant, 41, died when he was ejected from his purple 2000 Honda Civic after the vehicle left New McEver Road, slammed into a tree, and came to an uncontrolled stop on the northern end of the roadway at 6:22 a.m. Sunday.
Police said that Bryant had just crashed into another vehicle at Old 41 Highway and Old McEver Road before fleeing the scene, turning left onto New McEver Road, and subsequently crashing after failing to negotiate a left curve. Bryant was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Investigators believe alcohol and excess speed were likely factors in the accident and do not plan to file charges at this time.
