Kennesaw Sets Qualifying Fees, Dates for Mayor's Race
Former mayor Leonard Church is now serving time in prison for child molestation and pornography.
KENNESAW, GA -- The city council has set the qualifying fee and dates for the next mayoral election.
The qualifying fee is $360, and qualifying dates are March 8-9, reports the AJC.
The election to replace former mayor Leonard Church will be May 24. Church is in jail after being convicted of child molestation and possession of child pornography.

Qualifying hours at city hall will be 8:30 am to 4:30 pm March 8 and 9, closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 10.
Church served as mayor between 2000 and 2008, and was on the Kennesaw City Council at the time of his arrest on charges of child molestation in late June of last year.
