Kennesaw State Seeks Library Director

is looking to hire a full time Library Director. The selected candidate will formulate library goals and objectives and implement policies and programs to achieve these goals. The candidate will also plan and administer staff development programs, conduct research into library operations and serve as liaison in personnel matters with the university.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Five-plus years of related experience.
• Management and supervisory skills.   

Desired Qualifications:

• Masters in Library Science from an ALA accredited program.
• Second masters in a subject area.
• Preferred Ph.D.
• 10 years management skills at a senior level.
• Record of scholarship and professional involvement in various library areas.
• Effective planning and organizational skills as they relate to library construction and building modification.
• Experience with major academic library building projects.
• Development and grant-writing experience.
• Record of success in implementing a digital repository.
• Record of success in planning and implementing library building projects preferred.
• Knowledge of library related databases and online services such as OCLC and Endeavor.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Extensive knowledge of Galileo databases and Voyager library systems.
• Knowledge of information literacy trends in higher education.
