Kennesaw Woman Stole Over $700,000 From UConn: Police
She is accused of diverting funds from Dell to her own personal bank account.

STORRS, CT — A Kennesaw woman has been charged with secretly stealing over $700,000 from the University of Connecticut, according to an investigation that began in June.
Muthini Nzuki, 39, of Kennesaw, is where the investigation led. She is accused of hacking into a bill pay account and changing the routing number for UConn funds supposed to be going to the Dell computer company, UConn police said. The funds — $773,000 and change — went into her personal bank account in Georgia instead, UConn police said.
The scheme took place between April 12 and May 9 and was discovered on June 21, UConn police said, adding that Nzuki also operated under the alias Jane Kiio, UConn police said.

A judge at Rockville Superior Court signed off on a warrant for Nzuki's arrest on Aug. 16 and she was picked up by the Cobb County Sheriff's Office on Aug. 24, according to a report. She fought extradition, but a governor's warrant brought her to Connecticut on Thursday.
She was being held Friday morning on a $1 million bond for first-degree larceny and a first-degree e-crime — misuse of information with fraudulent intent. She was to appear in court later Friday.
