KMHS Student Hit by Car While Walking to School
The MDJ reports a 16-year-old girl was struck by a car while walking from the Westover subdivision to the high school.

A car hit a student at around 8 this morning while she was walking across Kennesaw Due West Road on her way to school, reported the Marietta Daily Journal.
“A 16-year-old student was walking from the Westover subdivision to the school and while she was in the crosswalk, the lady driving the car was leaving the school turning left and struck her,” Kennesaw Police Officer Scott Luther told the MDJ.
According to the witnesses and the victim, the teenager was in the crosswalk when it was clear for her to walk, said Luther. The driver turned when the light turned green, he said.
There was no crossing guard present, but the crosswalk has a crossing signal, said Luther.
