Little Bears Brings Playtime Indoors

Kennesaw kids escape the heat at the indoor play area designed for both children and their parents.

Kennesaw resident Anna Rincon and her mother, Anna Maria Villa, came up with a great idea after Villa couldn’t find a “bouncy house” to take her 5-year-old granddaughter, Addison, to for an afternoon of play.

That’s how was born three years ago.  Located in the Windsor Shopping Center at 2655 Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw, the 4,000-square-foot facility offers a safe and sanitary environment with age-appropriate play areas, including an inflatable jumper, climbing towers and mats for infant time.

“We have survived and are still here,” said Anna Rincon, adding her mother works at the front desk. “The hot weather has helped us because we give shelter from the heat – no hot slides or sweating.”  The winter is also a good time to visit when kids get “cabin fever” from being inside too much.

And don’t forget to bring your socks. Little Bears is a “socks only” play area, Rincon said, because shoes bring in too much dirt and germs.

“We’re very concerned about keeping germs away, and we disinfect our toys daily,” Rincon said.

And they haven’t forgotten parents, either. There is a sitting area where moms and dads can chat with each other. It includes cable TV, free wi/fi internet connection and refreshments. The business also hosts special needs children play days once a month.

A summer special admission price of $6 is good through August, Rincon said, adding ages 6 and under would enjoy Little Bears the most. With books everywhere and lively kid music playing, there is something for every age – and no time limit.

Special events such as birthday parties and princess parties can also be held at the brightly-colored Little Bears. The first Tuesday of each month is Mom’s Morning Out at 10 a.m., and the second Friday of each month is Parents’ Night Out at 7 p.m.

On July 20, Little Bears will host a free make-up workshop for moms while their kids play. For more information on pricing for these events and membership packages, visit the website at www.lilbears.com or call 770-429-0331.
