UPDATE: Kennesaw Police Clearing Cobb Parkway After Multi-Vehicle Wreck

UPDATE: WSB Radio reports that the accident on Cobb Parkway near Ellison Lakes Drive has been cleared, but Kennesaw police have not corroborated this report.

Police said at 2:20 p.m. that “officers are continuing their investigation, the roads should be clear soon.”

ORIGINAL STORY: Traffic on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw has ground to a halt following a six-vehicle accident in the southbound lanes on Thursday afternoon.

Witnesses told police that the driver of a parked tractor trailer seemed to suffer a medical emergency which caused the big rig to lurch forward and start plowing into other cars on both sides of Cobb Parkway near Ellison Lakes Drive, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Nobody involved in the accidents was hurt, police told the AJC.

Traffic on Cobb Parkway is jam packed between Barrett Parkway and McCollum Parkway, according to the most recent traffic map. Kennesaw police said at 12:30 p.m. that only the center lanes on both sides of the highway were open to traffic.
