Noonday Shanty 5/10K Sees Its Largest Turnout in Event History

Despite a damp start with light rain, the annual Noonday Shanty 5K/10K on March 23 along Noonday Creek Trail saw an impressive turnout of more than 400 registered runners.

Hundreds of participants competed in the event featuring two USA Track and Field certified courses winding through Kennesaw’s scenic trails and attractions including Aviation Park, Cobb International Airport and Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

“With the support of this community, we raised $35,000 to continue improvements to the trails, parks and greenspace in Town Center,” said Jennifer Hogan, director of community at Town Center Community. "We extend our gratitude to our local businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and the 422 runners whose enthusiasm made this event truly amazing."

Town Center Community is comprised of the Town Center Community Improvement District (CID) and its nonprofit partner, the Town Center Community Alliance.
