Positive Tuberculosis Test Reported at Kennesaw State

Diagnostic skin tests will be conducted on Tuesday, university officials said.

Kennesaw State University and health officials are on heightened alert after a person on the campus tested positive for Tuberculosis.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the entire campus has been made aware of the test, as well as some 200 other people who regularly came in contact with the person who tested positive. TB skin tests will be offered on campus on Tuesday, with results expected on Thursday.

Tuberculosis is a disease caused by bacteria which attack the lungs. The bacteria uses the air to enter new hosts’ bodies, but is not transferred through touch, health officials say.
