Recap: Kennesaw Businessman Arrested in Alleged Murder-for-Hire Scheme

The suspect allegedly tried to pay an undercover GBI agent posing as a hitman to kill his wife.

A Kennesaw businessman is behind bars at the Cobb County jail after being arrested in the course of a murder-for-hire investigation.

A GBI investigation revealed that Amin Zariwala attempted to hire a hitman to kill his wife last November, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. The man Zariwala spoke to was in fact an undercover agent, and Zariwala was arrested on Friday during a raid on his electronics repair company, ALZ Cellular Repair.

A loyal customer of Zariwala’s repair business told WSB-TV that he often spoke warmly of his wife and children, though a man who knew the suspect told reporters that Zariwala had sometimes complained about his wife.

According to Cobb County jail records, Zariwala remains behind bars without bond on one charge of felony criminal solicitation.
