Register Today for KSU's TESOL Practicum Course
Students will get real-world teaching experience and receive feedback from veteran instructors.

Staff Report
KSU’s College of Continuing and Professional Education has launched a new TESOL Practicum course created to complement its TESOL Certificate program. Beginning Feb. 21, the Practicum class allows students the opportunity to obtain invaluable guidance by trained professionals. Trainees will present live lessons to ESL students and receive feedback from experienced TESOL instructors.
“This will serve as an excellent addition to our TESOL Certificate and help students stand out in the job market,” said Lyn Cohen, program manager. “Most students move on to private school teaching here or abroad.”
Recently, the international group TESOL.org released their new guidelines for certificate programs. They are recommending a minimum of 20 Practicum hours for new ESL teachers. As a result, KSU has developed this program to provide students real-world practice to help them succeed in their English teaching career. Class learning objectives include lesson creation, leading conversation practice, presentations and teaching strategies.
Several countries are actively seeking to fill teaching roles. According todaveseslcafe.com, the best countries with sufficient job openings and desirable salaries include China, Japan, South Korea, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Taiwan.
The 21-hour course costs $499. For more information, visit ccpe.kennesaw.edu/tesol or call 470-578-6765.
