Smashburger Comes to Kennesaw
The "better burger" restaurant hopes to appeal to the taste buds of the Kennesaw community.
Last Wednesday, Smashburger celebrated its grand opening ceremony in Kennesaw. Mayor Mark Mathews was on hand to flip beef patties at the self-proclaimed "better burger" restaurant.
Located at 440 Barrett Parkway, the location is the fourth of 20-plus Atlanta-area Smashburger restaurants franchise owner Phil Wilkins is slated to open over the next seven years.
“We’re looking forward to bringing the smash, sizzle and savor experience to Kennesaw,” said Wilkins in a release. “I think Kennesaw residents will appreciate all the flavorful choices we’re offering them."

The restaurant's signature menu item is the Atlanta Smashburger, which features 100 percent certified Angus beef, peach barbecue sauce, Pimena cheese, grilled jalapeños and Vidalia coleslaw on an egg bun.
Other menu items include grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, grilled and split hot dogs and a number of sides such as rosemary and garlic–seasoned fries, fried pickles, and veggie frites. The restaurant also offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including local beers, wine, Häagen-Dazs shakes and root-beer floats.

“We worked hard to give Atlanta residents truly different regional tastes,” said Smashburger founder Tom Ryan. “Guests will be excited about the unique burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads we’ve created and we look forward to bringing these items to Kennesaw.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to add Kennesaw as our fourth Atlanta-area location,” said Smashburger CEO David Prokupek. “The space is ideal for us as we hope to cater to the college and mall traffic, as well as the local community.”
