Smyrna Middle School Principal to Become KMHS Principal
Dr. Mark Trachtenbroit officially takes over on Jan. 2, the Marietta Daily Journal reports.

Kennesaw Mountain High School will have a new principal to start off the new year, the Marietta Daily Journal says.
According to the MDJ, Dr. Mark Trachtenbroit’s appointment to head up the high school was formally approved by the Cobb County School Board last week. Trachtenbroit is leaving Griffin Middle School in Smyrna, where he had served as principal for the last two years, the MDJ says.
Trachtenbroit has taught in the high school setting, and this experience in the classroom and behind the principal’s desk made him the ideal choice to replace Kevin Daniel, who is now an assistant superintendent with the county, reports the MDJ.

Trachetnbroit told the MDJ he is looking at the possibility to expand the school’s magnet program and is examining establishing a career center which would allow students from across Cobb County to learn a trade before graduating.
The new principal’s first day on the job will be Jan. 2, 2015.
