Update: GBI Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Kennesaw
Jeffrey Roy Moffatt is in serious condition at Kennestone Hospital. The GBI is investigating.

KENNESAW, GA -- A Georgia felony and parole officer shot a male suspect several times on Wednesday night in Kennesaw.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which has taken over the case, officers from the Department of Community Supervision (DCS) were serving a probation violation warrant on Jeffery Roy Moffatt, 23.
"Moffatt’s parents were aware of the outstanding warrant and had contacted DCS reporting that Moffatt was behaving erratically," according to a GBI statement. "Preliminary information indicates that during the arrest, an altercation ensued and Moffatt was shot multiple times by two DCS officers.

Moffatt was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he is being treated and is listed in serious condition. The officers were not injured during the incident.
The GBI says it is conducting an independent investigation, and will turn over its findings to the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office for any action they deem appropriate.
