KENNESAW, GA -- This summer, teen volunteers at the Southern Museum will be trained to facilitate hands-on activity stations in the museum for visitors. These stations will explore specific topics, like Civil War music, how trains are made, or how pistons work.

There will be opportunity to practice communication and teamwork, explore career possibilities, develop a passion for museums, teaching, learning and earn volunteer hours.

Applicants must be 16 years or older. The application deadline is Friday, April 26, by 5 p.m. and interviews will be held on Sunday, May 5, from 1-5 p.m.

After being trained, volunteers will sign up for 2.5 hour shifts on select dates in June and July. Shifts will be offered on busy days, including many Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Volunteers can set their own schedules, but are expected to attend a minimum of four shifts. The full schedule will be available for sign-up at the mandatory training.
