6-Year-Old Shot at Block Party: Reports

The boy had a small wound in the chest, according to media reports. No suspect in custody.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A 6-year-old boy is expected to survive a serious injury after he was shot at a neighborhood party Saturday evening, according to media reports.

No suspect is in custody and police are asking for the public's help if they have information in Cannonball Court incident in the Lawrenceville area.

The boy was flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston in serious condition, but he injuries were not life threatening, according to CBS46.

First responders arrived around 6 p.m. and found the boy with a small chest wound that appeared to be from a BB gun, but was determined to be from a small-caliber bullet, according to 11Alive.

On Friday afternoon, a 12-year-old died after accidentally shooting himself when he was playing with a gun in his Norcross garage.
