Attention aspiring actors and comedians, back-to-school season just got a whole lot better with outrageously entertaining programming from Aurora Theatre! September’s activities have something for everyone; whether it’s spooky stories sending a shiver down your spine, sharpening up on improv skills or enjoying some good, clean Southern fun, this is a line up you won’t want to miss!

Financial Seminar: “Social Security: Your Questions Answered”

Aurora Comedy Nights
Friday, September 4 at 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.; Saturday, September 5 at 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.
Aurora Theatre is excited to welcome comedy headliner Mark Evans to the stage. Don’t miss a second of the outright hilarious, witty and lighthearted “Southern, Not Stupid!” tour as it makes a stop at Aurora Theatre this Labor Day weekend. Classes for elementary school students
Mini (1-3) and Master (4-5) Classes select Tuesdays in September: 9/15, 9/22, 9/29 from 4:30-6 p.m.
Classes held for grades 1-5 will give attendees the opportunity to go behind the scenes and learn what it takes to put on a play. Students will be taught the importance of teamwork and collaboration, all while gaining valuable stage experience. Participants will get to create real portions of sets, costumes and props to be used in productions presented to family and friends. Tuition is $200 per session.
Classes for middle and high school students
Middle (6-8) and High School (9-12) Acting Edge Classes select Mondays in September: 9/14, 9/21, 9/28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Teens in grades 6-12 are encouraged to take part in the Aurora Theatre Academy Acting Edge Class that will allow them to experience the ins and outs of the theatrical stage! Through a series of games and exercises exploring the inner makings of a play, the class will transform into an ensemble of actors and prepare a collection of scenes to be performed for friends and family. Tuition is $200 per session.
Aurora Theatre Academy Adult Acting Class
Select Mondays in September: 9/21, 9/28 from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
It’s never too late to master the art of acting! In the Aurora Theatre Academy Adult Acting Class, students ages 18 and up are invited to learn professional techniques and develop valuable skills, like cold readings, monologue delivery and auditioning with confidence that will help ensure success on stage. Tuition is $200 per session.
Pizza and Punchlines for Teens –Aurora Theatre Academy
Friday, September 18 from 6-8:30 p.m.
Pizza and Punchlines for Teens is the perfect opportunity to improve improv skills and laugh along with friends, all while enjoying delicious pizza! Admission to this one-of-a-kind program open to middle school and high school students includes hilariously fun improv games, constructive technique training and a tasty dinner. Register online for $25 per person.
