Gwinnett Tech Annual Fall Plant Sale to Be Held Oct. 18-20

Gwinnett Technical College's Environmental Horticulture program will host its annual plant sale Oct. 18-20.

"Our fall plant sale will be a great mix of old standbys, exciting new varieties and hard to find plant favorites that our customers have come to expect from us," said Roni Trimble, coordinator of greenhouse operations, in a released statement. "There's the chance for a surprise around every corner and as always, we offer outstanding prices."

The plants sold during the annual event were grown by students in the Gwinnett Tech environmental horticulture program and include:

  • Perennials: penstemon ‘husker red’, kent beauty oregano, rudbeckia ‘goldsturm’, gayfeather, dianthus ‘wicked witch’ and Japanese painted ferns.
  • Fall annuals: pansies, violas and snapdragons.
  • Vegetables: broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Swiss chard and lettuces.
  • Herbs: rosemary, cilantro, parsley and sage
  • Shrubs: callicarpa Americana, callicarpa dichotoma, fig trees, kerria japonica, awabuki viburnum and August beauty gardenias.

The sale will be held Oct. 18-20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the campus greenhouse located adjacent to building 600 on the Gwinnett Tech campus, 5150 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville.

The Gwinnett Tech environmental horticultural program trains students for careers as a landscape design technician or landscape/greenhouse installation technician. Students may also focus on floral design. For more information, visit www.GwinnettTech.edu or call 770-962-7580.
