Learn WordPress.org To Create & Maintain Your Own Website!

IF YOU'VE EVER WANTED TO CREATE YOUR OWN WEBSITE -- ONE THAT YOU CAN UPDATE AND MAINTAIN YOURSELF -- THIS IS THE WORKSHOP FOR YOU!

WordPress.org is an open source content management system designed, originally, for blogging. It's most notable trait is the simple, instant publishing platform, but it's so much more. Designed to appeal to the most technically challenged among us, it also gives us lots of room to grow.

In this four-hour, working (and drinking!) lunchtime workshop, I'm going to walk you through the dashboard of your site and you'll learn what everything does and why it's important. We'll cover some of my favorite plugins, themes and tricks. We'll also go over CSS, social media integration and some best-practices for successful blogging.

It's okay if you don't have an existing installation of WordPress.org on your own hosting account. I have two solutions for that:

1. You can arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of class and I can walk you through purchasing a hosting account and installing WordPress on your domain.
2. You can borrow a sandbox installation during class and get to keep that installation for one month after the class.
Both options are free for students with registration!

You should take this class if you:

-Need an easy-to-manage website for your small business
-Are interested in taking your Wordpress.com blog to the next level
-Would like for your business to be found in more organic ways online
-Have a website that is built with the WordPress.org CMS and need to learn how to use it
-Registration is $149 and includes the standard booze + food hospitality that you've come to expect!

You can now register online to reserve your seat and pay for it later! Details: http://www.imajworksconsulting.com/workshops/events/learn-wordpress-june-lawrenceville-2012/
