Family Fun Day Splashed at Collins Hill Aquatic Center

Kids and parents played in the water on a hot day. Be sure to check out the video too.

Sun, blue sky and temperatures ten degrees above normal contributed to making the Family Fun Day at a very successful and amply attended event.

Interspersed between free-style water activities were scheduled events such as the Reverse Scavenger Hunt and Tattoos for all ages, Sandy Candy for ages up to eight, Jellyfish for ages six and under, Friendship Bracelets for ages Seven and up, Sand Castles and Whale’s Tales Water Safety for all ages.

Unscheduled competitions were spontaneously held between fathers, daughters and sons as teams raced down the serpentine water slides to see whom would emerge first. Of course, the children always won. Look at the photos and you’ll see the winner of the handstand-on-water competition. Yes, it can be done! (...with the aid of a fast camera shutter and a speed light!)
