Gift of Life: Mall of Georgia Hosts Post-Christmas Blood Drive

Help save lives by rolling up your sleeves and giving blood during your post-Christmas shopping.

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive Dec. 26-28 at the Mall of Georgia in Gwinnett County. Everyone who donates will receive a long-sleeve Red Cross holiday T-shirt, while supplies last.

The drive will be held 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on both days in the upper level near Dick’s Sporting Goods. The Mall of Georgia is located at 3333 Buford Drive near Buford.

Here are some quick facts about giving blood from the American Red Cross:

• Blood cannot be manufactured — it can only come from generous donors.
• Blood donation is a simple four-step process: registration and medical history, mini-physical, donation and refreshments.
• Shortages of all blood types usually occur during the summer and winter holidays—so now is the time to give!
• One donation can help save the lives of up to three people!
• The American Red Cross supplies approximately 45% of the nation’s blood supply.
