Gwinnett Begins Naming Process for 4 Schools Opening in 2015
New schools are opening in Norcross and Lawrenceville.

The school year in Gwinnett County is barely two weeks old, but the school district is already looking toward 2015.
Gwinnett County Public Schools is looking for help in naming four new schools that are scheduled to open in Fall 2015.
The district is seeking name submissions from residents and local groups for the following new school locations:

· New Berkmar/Central Gwinnett Relief Cluster Elementary – 2136 Old
Norcross Road in Lawrenceville
· New Berkmar/Central Gwinnett Relief Cluster High – 1335 Old Norcross Road in Lawrenceville
· New Central Gwinnett Cluster MS – 8 Village Way in Lawrenceville
· New Meadowcreek Cluster Elementary – 1700 Graves Road in Norcross
The school district says the submitted names will be gathered by school naming committees, which have been formed within the cluster where the new schools will be built. All committees include one school staff member and one parent and/or community member from each school in the area of the new school. These committees will develop a list of recommended names to submit to the superintendent.

Information on how to submit names for consideration, along with the necessary form, can be found on the school system’s web site at www.gwinnett.k12.ga.us.
The deadline to submit public input is September 9. The school naming committee will submit their recommendations to CEO/Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks on Sept. 12. The school board will consider the new names at its Sept. 18 meeting.
