Gwinnett Medical and Girlology Present Something New About You for Preteen Girls
Join Gwinnett Medical Center and Girlology for Something New About You, a fun, interactive event for 4th and 5th grade girls and their moms.
Attention Moms! Want to start a healthy conversation about the effects of puberty with your 9β11 year old daughters while avoiding awkward silences and eye-rolls? Then grab your friends and join in as web sensation Girlology leads Something New About You, a fun and interactive event for 4th and 5th grade girls and their moms (or mom-appointees). When girls learn about puberty before it happens, they face it with greater confidence and even excitement. NOW is the perfect time to start healthy, factual conversations.
Program topics include growth and development, bras and bra shopping, hygiene, nutrition, menstruation, feminine care products, emotions and respect for self and others. Two physicians (and moms!), Dr. Angela Walker and Girlology & Guyology Co-Founder Dr. Melisa Holmes, discuss puberty in a fun, engaging environment.
Something New About You will be held on Sunday, February 22, 1:30 β 3:30 p.m. at the Gwinnett Medical Center Resource Center, 665 Duluth Highway, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046. Attendance is $75 per mother-daughter pair. All girls will receive a goody bag including Girlologyβs book for this age group. Registration is required. To register, visit camperregsecure.com/gyregister and look for the Gwinnett Medical Center listing. Learn more at www.girlology.com.
