Gwinnett Schools Make Decision On Wednesday Classes

The county still was experiencing power outages and road closures Tuesday afternoon after storms associated with Hurricane Irma.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Gwinnett County Public Schools will be closed again on Wednesday as staff work to get campuses ready for students after storms from Hurricane Irma.

According to Georgia Power, 23,123 Gwinnett County residents still were without power after 5 p.m. Tuesday. And the Gwinnett County Police Department reported that dozens of roads were closed to traffic Tuesday afternoon due to storm-related incidents like downed trees and power lines.
