Gwinnett Sorority to Beautify Environment, Walk for Autism and Fight Cancer

Public Support Needed to Help the Sun Shine On UAO's Community Service

The snow has melted and the ice has thawed. April showers and May flowers will give way to activities designed to promote environmental sustainability, walk for Autism and fight against cancer. Members of the Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter (β€œUAO”) of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated are letting the sunshine in by β€œspring-ing” into action with community service. And, the public’s support is needed.

UAO Fights Cancer!
UAO raised over $20,000 in the fight against cancer in 2014. Help UAO exceed their 2015 goal by joining their cancer-fighting team at bit.ly/2015uaorfl and by joining them for the Gwinnett County Relay For Life event on Friday, May 8 at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds starting at 6:00pm.

UAO is a powerhouse of volunteerism. Programs such as mentoring, playground improvement, feeding hungry children, book and clothing drives and environmental beautification positively impact the community. Further, UAO has awarded over $180,000 in scholarships to deserving students since being chartered in Gwinnett County in 1994.
