ICYMI: Teen Driver Charged in Webb Gin Road Crash
Ashlyn Boyd, 17, faces two felony charges for the wreck that critically injured her and two teen passengers.

GRAYSON, GA — The 17-year-old driver in a crash that sent a car full of teens to the hospital with serious injuries is now facing felony charges.
Police say Ashlyn Boyd, of Lawrenceville, was driving recklessly and speeding on June 20 when her car flew off of Webb Gin House Road and struck a tree.
Wednesday evening, Gwinnett County Police announced that multiple warrants have been issued for Boyd.
Charges include two counts of felony serious injury by motor vehicle, failure to drive in a single lane, reckless driving, speeding, two counts of violating driver's license restrictions and not wearing a seat belt.

Boyd had not yet been booked on the charges Wednesday evening.
According to police, Boyd was was driving her Honda Civic too fast on Webb Gin House Road, near Arbor Court, at about 10:30 p.m. when she lost control.

A Gwinnett County Police incident report says she drove off of the right side of the road, then over-corrected, sending the Civic all the way to the other side of the road, where its front passenger side hit a tree.
Boyd, who was not wearing a safety belt, was ejected from the vehicle.
She was taken to a local hospital, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition.
Boyd's three passengers also were hospitalized after the crash.
They are: Sarah Abney, 16, Jenna Davis, 15, and Emily Petraglia, 16. All three are also from Lawrenceville.
Abney and Petraglia were hospitalized in critical condition with surgeries scheduled, police said.
Davis complained of back pain and was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but released.
Police investigators determined that alcohol was not a factor in the wreck.
