Islam’s Perspective on Martin Luther King Jr.
Islam had already stated more than 1400 years ago about how looks don't matter but only one's character.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is celebrated every year to remind us about his successful campaigns and ideas to end racial segregation. He was the most visible spokesperson at the time and a civil rights leader. He was best known for advancing civil rights through nonviolence and peaceful protests.
Even before Martin Luther King Jr. was born, Islam had already stated more than 1400 years ago about how looks don’t matter but only one’s character. The Holy Qur’an states, “O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female; and We have made you into tribes and sub-tribes that you may recognize one another. Verily, the most honorable among you, in the sight of God, is he who is the most righteous among you. Surely, God is All-knowing, All-Aware” (49:14).
This verse demonstrates the similarity between Dr. King’s message and that of Islam. So let’s set aside our differences and work to bring unity and harmony in our society. By Fizah Ahmad
