Karaoke-Bar Stabbing Suspect Arrested in Alabama
Viet Dam, 20, of Chamblee, is suspected of stabbing his victim 17 time in a fight behind Paradise Karaoke in Lawrenceville.
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A man who police say stabbed a victim 17 times during a fight behind a Lawrenceville karaoke bar has been captured in Alabama.
Viet Dam, 20, of Chamblee, was arrested Monday night after a traffic stop in Mobile, Alabama, according to Gwinnett County Police.
He was in custody on Wednesday, awaiting extradition back to Gwinnett County.

The stabbing happened at about 3 a.m. on October 9.
Police were called to Paradise Karaoke, at 1455 Pleasant Hill Rd., to find a 35-year-old Snellville man who had been stabbed multiple times. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Police say detectives learned that the victim and suspect knew each other due to a previous relationship with a a woman. The two were at Paradise Karaoke and got into a fight which continued out into the parking lot, according to police.
The fight was captured on video surveillance. Police say the victim did not realize he had been stabbed in the fight until after the two men separated.
The victim has since checked out of the hospital and is continuing to recover from his wounds, police say.
