Lawrenceville Compliance Check Results - 1st Quarter
Gwinnett County compliance check results are in for October - December 2014. Thank you to the retailers who checked IDs and keep us safe!
It’s that time again for our quarterly compliance check results update!
As you may know, underage drinking is a public health issue that has numerous impacts on the safety and health of our community.
During the 2014 Coalition for Health and Human Services Youth Survey, 9% of high school students reported that they buy alcohol from a store. This means that 4,588 students felt comfortable enough to walk into a convenience, grocery or drug store, possibly have a fake ID and purchase alcohol. It is against the law to buy alcohol for anyone under the age of 21 and/or buy it if you are under the age of 21.

It is for this reason that compliance checks are so important to occur regularly in our community. Employers are responsible for training their employees on how to check IDs, current ordinances and laws and the liabilities all employers and employees have when they sell and/or serve alcohol.
We are very thankful that the following owners and managers took the time to train their staff on what to look for when checking ID’s and preventing those under the age of 21 from buying alcohol. These practices make our community safer!
