Lawrenceville: More Police Coming To School, Construction Zones
The city says it is ramping up enforcement of speeding in school and construction zones in the downtown area.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — If you're prone to zooming through the streets of downtown Lawrenceville, the city wants to give you a good reason to slow down.
More police will be monitoring school and construction zones, the city said in a news release. They are particularly eyeing those zones along Clayton, Crogan and Perry streets as well as U.S. 29 — all in the downtown area.
"Construction workers and students are frequently in and/or crossing these streets and individual safety is of prime concern," the city said in the release. "Maintaining the proper speed limit and observing traffic signage supports overall safety for these workers, students, and drivers."
