The fire department arrived and rendered assistance to both men. Their condition is unknown.
Maria Garcia, Max's mother, told police, according to the police report, that the school resource officer told her that two classmates notified the officer that Max was carrying a knife and the classmates turned him in. The mother then told officers, according to the report, that her son was caught carrying a knife at school. She said he is enrolled in a Police Explorer Program at the school and she had hoped his behavior would change because he had taken a knife to school before. After the argument, she told police her son ran upstairs and she followed, to see him stabbing his father with a pointed object that was not a knife.
She told police, according to the report, that Max's brother tried to pull Max off their father and Max attacked him as well. Max then ran out the door and received a ride.
Police later found and arrested Max.
