The National Weather Service says Tuesday's morning and afternoon commutes around metro Atlanta will likely be <a href="http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ffc/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">impacted by severe weather</a>.The agency issued a hazardous weather alert for most of Central and North Georgia, including Gwinnett County, about an approaching squall line of strong to severe thunderstorms expected to move across the state beginning around 3 a.m. Tuesday.The storms could bring winds up to 60 mph, 1 to 3 inches of rain and isolated brief tornadoes.The timing of the storm is: Rome, Carrollton, Columbus, 3-6 a.m.; Jasper, Atlanta, 6-9 a.m.; Athens, Macon, 10 a.m.-noon.After the initial line of storms moves through, more storms could redevelop in north Georgia along a cold front Tuesday afternoon, impacting the afternoon commute."Check the latest conditions before you leave and allow extra time to reach your destination," the weather service warned.Rain chances increase to 70 percent tonight and 100 percent Tuesday.(Graphic: National Weather Service, Peachtree City)
