• Noltensmeier is 'mom' to many at EMS (theoglethorpeecho.com) — Oglethorpe County EMS mainstay Julie Noltensmeier has spent nearly 18 years quietly supporting first responders and residents around Lexington, handling billing, questions, and emotional support from her Athens Road office. Coworkers rallied around her during a 2020 breast cancer battle, raising funds and adding awareness ribbons to every EMS vehicle, and she says she has no plans to leave the job she loves.
