Governor Renews Public Health State Of Emergency, Provides Additional Guidance

Kemp renewed the Public Health State of Emergency through Sept. 10.

On July 31, 2020 Governor Brian Kemp renewed the Public Health State of Emergency through September 10, 2020. Governor Kemp also issued additional guidance on empowering a healthy Georgia on July 31. Unless otherwise noted in the executive order, it is in effect August 1 through August 15, 2020.

All residents and visitors should practice social distancing and refrain from gathering as defined in the order. People are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings as practicable while outside their homes, except when eating, drinking, or exercising outdoors. Residents and visitors shall practice sanitation in accordance with the guidelines published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Those who meet the criteria for higher risk of severe illness as defined by the CDC are required to shelter in place through August 15, 2020.
