37th Annual 'Grayson Day' Set For Saturday

Race, parade, festival and movie are among the day's features.

GRAYSON, GA -- Arts, crafts, food and fun are on tap for Saturday, when the City of Grayson will celebrate its 37th Annual Grayson Day.

The festivities kick off with the Grayson Day Road Race, a 1K fun run and 5K race hosted by the Grayson High School cross country team.

The race will be followed by the Grayson Day Parade, which steps off at 10 a.m. from Grayson Library.

Also beginning at 10 a.m., and running until 4 p.m., is the Grayson Day Festival in downtown.

The festival will feature more than 200 artisans and craftsmen, as well as festival food vendors.

There will be entertainment at the Pavilion until around noon, then DJ Mike will be spinning dance and party music throughout the afternoon.

Free children's activities will include a trackless train, pony rides, a petting zoo, inflatable bounce houses, an obstacle course and spaceball.

Other free activities and games will be hosted by vendors throughout the park.

The Grayson Arts & History Center and Main Street Grayson will be hosting "Grayson MoCo", an opportunity for children up to the age of 6 to make their own car. The Grayson MoCo assembly line should take about 15 minutes to complete.

At 7 p.m. Saturday, Lanier Jazz will perform in the Big Pavilion. And, at nightfall, "The Good Dinosaur" will be shown as the first installment of this year's Movie in the Park series.
