Another LHS FFA Students Heads to State Competiton

LHS junior Samuel Peraza Places 2nd in Area FFA Job Interview Career Development Event, moving him up to compete at the state level.

FFA member, Samuel Peraza, recently placed 2nd at the Area II FFA Job Interview Career Development Event. The event was held at Oconee County High School in Watkinsville on Tuesday, October 4, 2011.  Peraza is a junior at Loganville High School. Abby Needham is the Loganville High School FFA advisor. 

Peraza will compete for state honors December 3, 2011 at the UGA-Tifton campus in Tifton, GA.

The state job interview CDE is a competitive activity that tests student's ability to perform effectively throughout the entire job application process. The participants prepare a resume, cover letter and complete a written application. They also participate in phone, one-on-one and panel job interviews as part of the competition. The event is one of many educational activities in which FFA members practice the lessons learned in agricultural education classes.

The National FFA Organization, formerly known as Future Farmers of America, is a national youth organization of 523,309 student members as part of 7,487 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The Georgia FFA Association has 31,525 members.  The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
