Child Safe, Man Arrested After Gwinnett SWAT Standoff: Report
The situation was resolved around 7 a.m. Saturday.
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA - A SWAT standoff on Pointcrest Way in Gwinnett County ended with the arrest of a man, WSB-TV reports. The unidentified man was intoxicated when he became violent towards his girlfriend late Friday night.
WSB-TV reports the man showed the woman a handgun when she tried to leave. She was later able to escape safely but her 18-month-old daughter was still inside the house. Crisis negotiators cleared the residence with a robot to locate him and the child.
The man was taken into custody and the child was rescued around 7 a.m.
