GECC Makes $1,000 Contribution to Grayson's Schools

The Grayson Cluster Schools Foundation is big winner of the Hot Tamale Chili Cook Off

At the monthly lunch at Suki on Wednesday, Jamie Dempsey presented the Grayson Cluster Schools Foundation with a check for $1,000 as a portion of the proceeds from the Hot Tamale Chili Cook Off held in November.

The Chili Cook Off started as a Foundation event but was turned over to the chamber as a fundraiser three years ago.

Dempsey, President of the GECC, was proud that the chamber was able to give back to the community in such a generous way.

In other Chamber business, Dempsey announced that the dues structure would be changed and membership dues would be less in the coming year. "We understand these are some challenging economic times," he said in explanation of the lower dues.
